“If you live in or near SW Portland, you’ve gotta give it a try! Their meat substitutes are excellent. I didn’t like the lunch buffet as much as the dinner entrees, but for $6.50, it was still very much worth it! The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I forgot my jacket last time I ate there and the waiter ran outside with it before I could get away. Excellent place all-around. Everyone check it out!”

“Green Wok has become my new favorite place to get vegetarian Chinese food in the Portland area. All of their sauces are homemade so their orange “chicken” tastes amazing – you can actually taste the orange and see thin slivers of orange peel in the sauce. I have to say that my favorite dish that I’ve ordered so far has been the mongolian “beef” – thin slices of teriyaki-reminiscent goodness along with ginger and green onion. “

“Although I am a “meataholic”, this delightful vegetarian spot preared both “shrimp” and “beef” that were both tasteful and light. The vegies that came with the dishes were so fresh they seemed to have been harvested thsat day! Highlight is the potato bird’s nest delight. Affordable, good music, and great staff. I am certain to go back, and would like to try their noontime buffet, as the quality is so high this will be a real treat! “

“I first had the good fortune to try Green Wok at Veg Fest. If you haven’t had the good fortune to sample Vegetarian Chinese Food before, I can’t think of a better place in Portland to start. The Green Wok is a cute little restaurant with a great vibe to it, the staff is really nice & their food?
One of the worst things about being Vegetarian is how often you’re forced to eat food that is not only cruelty free, but is also sickeningly good for you. Fortunately for those of us who enjoy a little bit of super naughty decadent rich yumminess in our meat free dining, there is vegetarian Chinese food.
Recommendations? Their Kung Pao bean curd is A-F@#$ing_MAZING, and their veggie crab rangoon got a standing ovation from my ex (whom I believe is still hard at work on her life goal of sampling every crab rangoon in Portland).
Easily one of the best in Portland, happily recommended

“Tried Green Wok during its opening weekend and was favorably impressed. Fun, healthy spin on Chinese food by offering veggie takes on traditional chicken, beef, and seafood dishes. The food was very flavorful and fresh. I had the veggie sweet and sour “shrimp” and my husband had General Tso’s veggie “chicken.” The dishes are made with gluten and soy mixtures that yield good texture and taste (no after-taste or funny taste you can sometimes experience with meat substitutes). Friendly service and nicely re-done decor. We’ll be returning customers.”

“Absolutely amazing. The price was right. The buffet was plentiful and varied. The service was outstanding. The gentlemen manning the cash register went out of his way to welcome us to the city. I will be frequenting this establishment.”

“Super nice service and let me tell you, as a vegetarian for 4 years and a vegan 2 years out of those 4, sometimes you want something hearty! Well this is the first place that satisfied that, I could never eat meat because the smell and taste grosses me out, but their mock meats didn’t taste like meat, but were super hearty and totally satisfying. My husband (a carnivore) said it was very close to meat and he didn’t feel deprived, so a win win for the both of us. We’ll be back for sure even though it’s a 30 min drive for us, I just wish they were in a better location so everyone could try it!”

“As a vegan myself, I was delighted to eat in a place where everything was of plant origin, and so utterly tasty. The buffet ($6:50 for all you can eat, Monday through Friday) was excellent value. The food was not only tasty but hot and well presented in the buffet trays. Full marks for flavour and presentation! And not one animal was hurt or destroyed for our pleasure. Who needs meat???”

“Green Wok is by far the most inventive and delicious vegetarian restaurant I’ve dined at. The lunch buffet is a steal at $6.50 and the orders off the menu for lunch and dinner and take-out are scrumptious. My friends couldn’t believe the General Tso’s Chicken wasn’t chicken. Located in a hole-in-the-wall strip mall, it’s easy to drive right by. But don’t miss it…well worth the drive from outlying areas.”
